Obituary of James "Jamie" Fredericksen

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Jamie Fredericksen, age 56, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, will be held from 11 am - 1 pm at Lake Park Methodist Church in Lake Park on Saturday, April 13, 2024.  Interment will be held at a later date.

Jamie (James) Fredericksen, 56, of Spirit Lake, passed away March 27, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. James was born to Jim and Shirley Fredericksen on April 6, 1967.

From an early age, cars were his favorite past time, from Hot Wheels to real ones when he was older. Mustangs were his favorites and Jamie started restoring his orange ’65 Mustang Coupe while still in high school so he would have it finished for high school graduation. While in high school, he participated in vocal music, band, football and basketball. He loved hunting and fishing in the Lakes Area. He also enjoyed other outdoor activities including snowmobiling, riding Cushman scooters and motorcycles.

After his high school graduation, he realized his lifelong ambition was running a NAPA Auto Parts Store in Spirit Lake. Later, he bought the Lake Park Auto Parts Store where helping his customers was the highlight of his day. He enjoyed his customers and they were all special to him.

Left to treasure his memory are his mother, Shirley Fredericksen of Lake Park and her special friend, Terry Anderson of Milford; brother, Jeff Fredericksen of Newman, Georgia; uncles, Robert (Denise) Rowe, Jerry (Sharon) Fredericksen and aunt-in-law, Carol Rowe.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father, James; aunts, Elaine (Earl) Brown, Joyce (Don) Mader and uncle, Charles (Jeanine) Rowe.
