Obituary of Velma Palmer

Mrs. Palmer, 98, of Milford passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. Velma M. Palmer was born September 9, 1913 in Spring Township, Cherokee County to William and Lydia Braasch. She moved with her parents to Sutherland, Iowa where she received her education. On October 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to Earl Palmer. They have lived in Milford, Iowa since 1939. Velma enjoyed being a housewife and mother to her three sons. She was a member of Union Memorial Church in Milford. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle point and spending time with her family and friends. Velma is survived by her sons, Bob (Vernette), Bill (JoEllen) and Jim (Joanne); grandchildren, Scott, Tobie, Brian, Jeremy, Joshua, Lissa, Jason, Nichole and Justin; eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
