Obituary of Marilynn Houser

Marilynn Jo Ann Houser was born May 19, 1932 in Spencer, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Helene (Geesman) Lighter. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard, in 1981. Both continued to work in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area until Marilynn's retirement from teaching in 1991. The couple then returned to live permanently in their home on West Okoboji spending winter months in Mesa, Arizona. Marilynn was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, tatting, knitting and current events. Marilyn passed away May 24, 2012 at the Milford Nursing Center at eighty years of age. She is survived by her son, David L. Damewood; one niece and two nephews. Marilynn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Houser. Memorials may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa.
