Obituary of Stanley Tolle

Stanley Dominic Tolle was born January 15, 1925 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Stanley and Zepha (Smith) Tolle. Early in his youth, his mother returned to Spencer to raise Stan and his brother Bob. After attending Spencer High School and graduating in 1943, Stanley enlisted in the military and served in the occupation army at the end of WWII. After returning home he was united in marriage to Iona Watt on March 21, 1948. They began their life together on the family farm until he followed the call of the Lord to go into the ministry moving to Minneapolis. Stan worked his way through college at Northwestern and seminary at Bethel College while supporting a growing family. Stan and Iona pastored many churches throughout the midwest during their years in the ministry including—High Forest, MN; Gering, NE; Milford, IA; Lake Nebagamon, WI; LeRoy, MN and Outing, MN. Retirement was greatly enjoyed in Laporte, MN where the fishing was excellent and he was able to tinker with his boat engines. Stan passed away at the age of 87 on June 12, 2012 in AZ where he had lived for the past 19 months for health reasons with his son Don and wife Pat. He is survived by their six children, Stanley M. (Corinne) of Tahoma, CA, Don (Pat) of Gilbert, AZ, Kathy (Gary) Rogers of Scottsbluff, NE, Greg (Diane) of Grand Junction, CO, Karen (Kevin) of Milford, IA, and Doug (Lori) of Fargo, ND. There are 13 grandchildren to cherish his memory and 13 great grandchildren and counting. He is also survived by his brother Robert who lives in AZ. He was preceded in death by his mother Zepha and wife Iona.
