Obituary of Thomas Herrick

Thomas DeWitt Herrick was born August 18, 1932 in Hubbard, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Maude (DeWitt) Herrick. After graduating from high school, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Buena Vista College. On June 22, 1952, Thomas was united in marriage to Darleen Martens. They were later divorced in 1977. Thomas worked as a teacher and an auditor for the State of Iowa. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He loved watching his "shows" on TV, playing cards and his afternoon coffee with Tom and Suzi. Thomas passed away June 22, 2012 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital at seventy-nine years of age. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Robert) Lindgard, Barbara (Scott) Stabbe, Thomas (Susan) C. Herrick and David (Laura) Herrick; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joanne Hogan and brother-in-law, Howard Hogan.
