Obituary of Al Foxhoven

Al Foxhoven was born October 14, 1928 in Crofton, Nebraska, the son of Edward and Theresa Foxhoven. He graduated from Onawa High School. Al served in the United States Signal Corp from 1950-1952. On November 24, 1953, Al was united in marriage to Mary Denise Boyles in Spencer, Iowa. They owned and operated Pizza Que Inn and Dairy Treat while there. In 1971, they moved to Arnolds Park where they owned and operated Foxies Resort for approximately twenty-five years. They also owned and operated Depot II Antiques for twelve years. Al worked for Spencer Foods for thirty-two years and Murphy of Iowa for fifteen years. Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed antiques, boating, fishing, going to auctions and watching the lake's activities. Al passed away February 11, 2011 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-two years of age. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Pam of Spirit Lake; son, David and his wife, Patricia, and their one son and two step-sons; son, Doug of Estherville, Iowa and his son and two grandchildren; daughter, Kimberly Cross and her husband, Sonny, their three daughters, two sons and ten grandchildren; son, Mark and his wife, Louise, of Linn Grove, Iowa and their one son; brother, Bob and his wife Emme of West Des Moines; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irene.
