Obituary of Martha Hinshaw

Martha Ellen Hinshaw was born July 11, 1922 at West Bend, Iowa to Frank and Ruby (Walrath) Abrams. The family lived at West Bend and Stuart, Iowa, and later moved to the Lakes Region. Martha graduated from Arnolds Park High School in 1939. Martha married Wheeler Jacob Hinshaw on May 8, 1945 in Huntington Beach, CA. Martha and Wheeler had four sons, Bob, Jake, Frank and Eric. Martha was a member of the Friends Church in Arnolds Park. She was a homemaker and a librarian at the Arnolds Park Public Library for nineteen years. Martha loved baking, bird watching and reading good books. Martha passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-eight years of age. She is survived by her four sons, Bob Hinshaw (Linda), of Spirit Lake, Jake Hinshaw (Linda) of Arnolds Park, Frank Hinshaw (Jamie) of Lewisville, Texas, and Eric Hinshaw of Arnolds Park. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Bill, Cheri, Michael, Chris, Brian, Mary and Martina; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wheeler Jacob Hinshaw in 1990.
