Obituary of Sandra Cook

Sandra Kay Cook was born December 7, 1940 in Meridan, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Jackson) Lochner, Jr. Sandra was raised and educated in Meridan, graduating from Meridan High School. Sandra was united in marriage to Jerry Cook on February 14, 1960, in Cherokee, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sioux City, Doon and Rock Rapids, Iowa. After being seasonal residents at their cabin on Big Spirit Lake for several years, Sandra and Jerry moved to Spirit Lake full time in 1992. Sandra enjoyed watching and playing girls basketball. She kept active golfing, bowling, spending time on the lake fishing, and crafts. She also enjoyed looking for real estate and remodeling. Sandra loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. Sandra passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at seventy years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Lochner, and her brothers, Billy and Raymond. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Cook; daughters, Cathi (Jim) Ellingson and Brenda Cook; granddaughters, Rachel and Maggie Ellingson and Allie Drifke; and sister, Louise Mahn
