Obituary of Rhonda Guthrie

Rhonda Rae Schumacher Guthrie was born September 24, 1967, in Spencer, Iowa. She attended school in Spencer and Spirit Lake, furthering her education with a nursing degree from Iowa Lakes Community College, and was employed at Lakes Regional Healthcare. Her nursing experience took her from Labor & Delivery, Med/Surg, ER, Discharge Planning to Legal Nurse Consultant with Risk Management. Rhonda's life was very full with work, gardening, caring for animals and attending auctions. She was happiest when she could help someone and make a difference, including working with Make-A-Wish. She always left time for the true loves of her life, her sons, Reed and David. They were always first and foremost to her. She is survived by her sons, Reed and David, mother Gwen Anderson of Spirit Lake, brother, David Schumacher (Trudy) and children Sara and Jack of Sioux Falls, sister, Ruth Hay (Jim) and children Riley and Sophia of Sioux Falls, Grandmother, Ruth Stephas of Sioux Falls, as well as aunts, uncles and friends from all walks of life. Preceding her in death were her father, Duane Schumacher (1988) and stepfather Paul Anderson (2008). Rhonda will be cherished for her tenacity, strength, convictions, smile, giving spirit and tremendous sense of humor. As a giver in life, she chose to be an organ donor so that she could continue to give the most precious of gifts.
