Obituary of Al Glover

Allen Kenneth Glover was born on June 8, 1925 to Roy and Mabel (Olson) Glover in Estherville, Iowa. His family lived in several rural communities during his childhood. He graduated from Milford High School in 1943. Following graduation, Allen was employed as a meat cutter in a local grocery store. He was a long time Milford Policeman and retiring in 1988 from the Dickinson County Road Dept. Allen was united in marriage to Evelyn Calvert on June 6, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union, four children were born. Al and Ev lived in Milford for the entire sixty-three years of their marriage. Al was active in Mason's, Shrine Hospital Dads, Eastern Star, and Union Memorial Church. He served in many capacities in these organizations. Al also delivered Meals On Wheels and took people to appointments up to age eighty-five. Allen passed away at his home in Milford on June 10, 2011, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Bev Rutter (Dwight), Bob Glover (Jill), Bonnie Glover and Barb Clark (Jack); ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Jason Rutter.
