Obituary of Norma Senn

Norma Senn was born on January 24, 1917, on her parents' farm in Round Lake, MN. Her parents were Amanda (Mangelsen) Osterkamp and George Osterkamp. Norma had three younger brothers named Raymond Osterkamp (deceased), Alvin Osterkamp (died 9/7/1968), and George Osterkamp (died 6/1/1970) and two older sisters Rose Osterkamp Untiedt (deceased) and Ella Osterkamp Lage who still resides at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. Norma grew up on the family farm and attended the local country school. Norma married William "Bill" Henry Bockwoldt at Brewster Minnesota on June 28, 1934. Bill and Norma lived on Bill's farm near Round Lake, Minnesota. Bill and Norma had one son, Larry Ray Bockwoldt. Larry was born on February 18, 1943 and died on July 12, 2000. Bill and Norma were divorced later in 1943. Norma later married Max H. Senn on November 18, 1949, in May City, Iowa. Max and Norma lived in Lake Park, Iowa since their marriage. Max passed away on November, 30, 2003. Norma was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park and at the time of her death was a resident at the Hilltop Care Center nursing home in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Norma was a housewife and enjoyed cooking, raising her son, and hosting large family gatherings. She also enjoyed canning food, sewing, and used to run an upholstery business out of her home. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family especially her great-grandchildren. Norma always enjoyed when the family went fishing because she loved to eat fish. She also enjoyed cooking German yeast pancakes whenever her grandson visited. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max Senn, her son, Larry Bockwoldt, her brothers George, Alvin, and Ray Osterkamp and her sister Rose Untiedt. Norma is survived by her sister Ella Lage, her grandson Commander Todd Bockwoldt, USN and his wife Tamela Lovett, her great-grandchildren Katie and Kyle Bockwoldt, sister-in-law Edith Gentry, daughter-in-law Gale Bobzien and several nieces and nephews.
