Obituary of Dale Allen Lundstrom

Dale Allen Lundstrom was born in the Loon Lake area of Jackson County, Minnesota on January 3, 1915 to Alfred and Mable Lundstrom. He received his early education in a rural school in Jackson County, Minnesota and graduated from the Spirit Lake High School in 1933. Upon graduation, he owned and operated two grocery stores in Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park. With the outbreak of WWII, he entered the service of his country. He served three years in the European Theater of the war. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army Air Force, he opened Lundstrom Furniture in 1946 and retired from his business in 2001 after a successful fifty-five years of selling fine furniture and floor covering. Dale was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and the VFW of Spirit Lake. He was also a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, also of Spirit Lake. Dale was inducted into the Retriever "Hall of Fame" in Grand Junction, Tennessee in 1999. On June 9, 1949, he was united in marriage to Sarah Amdahl of Estherville, Iowa. Dale passed away December 23, 2010 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at ninety-five years of age.
