Obituary of Connie Simpson Karl

Connie Jean Karl was bon October 13, 1948, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Mildred (Spoo) Simpson. Connie was raised and educated in Arnolds Park, graduating from Arnolds Park High School in 1967. On July 25, 1969, Connie was united in marriage to Darrell E. Karl at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake. Connie worked in environmental services at Village East in Okoboji and later at Ramada Inn in Spirit Lake. Additionally, she cleaned many private homes around the Lakes area. Connie loved to spend time with her siblings, nieces and nephews for birthdays and holidays and Friday night dining with her sisters. She also enjoyed shopping with her daughter, word search puzzles, activities at Arnolds Park Amusement Park, especially Rock The Roof concerts, and spending time with her beloved dog, Tucker. Connie passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at sixty-four years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Rapp (John); siblings, Charlene Lighter, Roger Simpson (Sue), Dave Simpson, Betty Spieker (Marv), Debbie Simpson, Jim Simpson (Joan), and Judy Rohwer (Jerry). Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Julie Welle and Louise Simpson; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, many friends and her beloved dog, Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Darrell, brothers, Gary Simpson and Dennis Simpson and brother-in-law, Jay Lighter.
