Obituary of Jeffrey Downing

Jeffrey Lynn Downing was born to Dean and Beverly (Lander) Downing on September 15th, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a 1972 graduate of Milford High School. He lived in Milford for many years before moving to San Antonio, TX, where he resided with his Fiancé Beth Nicgorski until the time of his death. Jeff served proudly in both the Air Force and National Guard and was recognized with many merit awards through-out his service. Jeff had several employers in his lifetime including several years with StyleCraft in Milford. His true passion was working with his hands doing upholstery work and home repairs. He was a member of the Milford Jaycees and helped with boy scouts and youth wrestling while his boys were growing up. Jeff was interested in gardening from an early age and continued to work in his garden as long as he was able. He also enjoyed wrestling, Hawkeye sports, camping, and spending time with his Fiancé Beth and their dog Peanut. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dean and Beverly Downing of Milford, IA; his Fiancé, Beth Nicgorski of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Dan Downing of Des Moines, IA and David Downing and his wife, Dona of Corpus Christi, TX.; and three sons, Jay Downing and his wife Pam of Milford, IA, Jeffrey Downing and his wife Kelli of Ankeny, IA, and Kenny Downing and his wife Bonnie of Omaha, NE. Jeff is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Tressa, Torrey, Tanner, Chase, Trey and Kalynne. Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Downing and by his grandparents.
